Girgit is a new movie doing rounds of the screens. The movie has been dubbed as a mixture of Kick and Golmaal. Akhil said that the film is not a remake but an original story line. He said it's going to be a very different experience for people who have watched him in his previous films like Kick, Kaminey and Omkara. He also has given the best of his technical team. He also mentioned that film is about a man who gets trapped in a lie and then starts telling more lies to not get caught. He said it is inspired by the life of an ordinary man. The film revolves around Girgit Malik (Akhil) who has not been able to move on from his first love Neha (Sadhana Singh). Girgit's sister Pooja (Seema Biswas) is getting married to Sandeep (Sandeepa Dhar). The marriage takes place on April 14, which is the same day as Neha's marriage with Arun Khanna (Shankar Mahadevan). Arun Khanna's marriage is fixed by his father who has no faith in love marriages. He feels that he should not allow his son to make the mistake of marrying for love. Meanwhile, Girgit bumps into Neha at the airport and she tells him that this is her last trip to India before her marriage to Arun. Girgit gets an idea in which he thinks Neha is getting married to someone else and leads her on by saying that he will help her get out of the marriage without hurting anyone's feelings. He does not know what lies ahead which leads him into a bigger problem. Will he be able to save his sister and her marriage? The movie has been directed by Pranay Chulet. The filming of the film began in mid November 2011. The film is being produced by the banner of Swastik Productions, a production company set up by filmmaker Prakash Jha. The film was initially planned to release on 17 April 2012 but its release date got delayed a week after a change in the initial release dates for a few other films. It was released on 24 April 2012. The film opened to mostly negative reviews. It was given a rating of 2/5 by the Times of India, calling it a "wasted opportunity". cfa1e77820
